Again, should've been updating, but ahwell :)

Got question for the techies out there ^.^
I'm very seriously looking at building a new pc, high end game wise, max. budget around 1k euro.
To keep my dwaggin happy (and in extension myself, cause he knows what's best for me ^_^) I've promised to research the components very well :)

This is the third version of the post, I think I'm very near my final setup now :)

NOTES:
- No OC'ing, it makes my dwaggin uncomfortable, and I'm fine without it, the parts are fast enough :)
- So stock speeds, this means a 3:4 memory divider to match the 333FSB to the 533 memory clock. (333 = 1333/4, 533 = 1066/2).
- Alternate for memory would be TWIN2X4096-6400C4DHX (4GB DDR2-800), if the dominator isn't available in the shop :)
- I think corsair should be a good brand, not sure about best brand tho.

Shop is either gonna be Azerty, Alternate, or SallandAutomatisering I think :)
Some problems with availabilit of the quad core, memory, mayby the video card, possibly the hd, but I expect that won't last long :)

P.s. updated -again-, decided for the X48-DQ6, it's a identical PCB to the EX38, and the DQ6 adds better cooling elements, for only 30 euro's extra. And it is a newer (tho almost identical) chipset, which will probably be better supporter by gigabyte :) Also the X38 isn't well available in shops anymore, all x48 now :)
And swapped from a stock xfx to a 'special' xfx, one of the 3 XT/XXX/black will do, black looks nice tho and is better available :)

Another nice weekend ^_^
Visited ponies again for a change, yay fluffy ears ^.^

Bit of excitement going there tho, on the way there someone 2-3 cars in front of me suddenly lost his left front wheel o.O
Wheel went to the left side, and car to the right side tho, so everyone got very lucky, only had to break firmly for the car in front of me, passed the wheel while it still was rolling along :)

Seem to have picked up a bit of a taste for cream (bailey's, the white part of sherridans, some white chocolate one I found this weekend ^_^) liquors, finally a flavor of acohol that I find really yummy ^__^

Weekend was nice overall, Snoopy was there too, mostly just lazed, watched movies, the usual ^_^
Keep the dog there entertained with a laserpointer :D

Very windy outside tho, whoooshwhoooshwhoosh all the time :)

Had to go fix a electric fence in it tho, cause one of the ponies decided to make an escape on friday :)
All sorted out now, good as new ^_^

If you look a year back in my LJ history you'll find my upsetness at last years APK/MOT/(Dutch goverment yearly car check) + major service, which was highly frustrating, took 3 days (including a whole weekend, and most notably 1200 euro's.

Had to take it in again today for APK + minor checkup, and been stressing out lots over it, (and somehow I didn't realize I needed minor instead of major, thought major was some yearly thing or so, so initially requested the wrong one).

Well, it took only part of a day, they brought me back, and later picked me up to and from work with a van, and it cost only the mandatory 99 euro + 1.95 for refilling the wishywashy, no repairs or anything needed, at all ^__^
100.95 total, which is -great- :)

Hmm, think it's been two squeekends since last update again :D
*tries to remember first of two*, staying home, getting some sleep back, reading harry potter, messing with 'puters, I guess :)
Mayby cleaning up and such a bit too, hmm, can't remember ^__^

Last weekend at HyperX/BP's, -again- :) Enjoyed the nice weather (which sadly has dissapeared again) while drivin around a bit, lots of dane cuddles ofcourse, played a game of risk and some silly trivia game which is all about 'how to survive' in the wild and so question cards, watched the third of the original updated starwars movies which I hadn't seen in any shape for years (and don't really need to see them anymore in quite a while now ^_^).

And besides that workies workies workies :)
Kinda busy with that too :)
And tinkering with pc and reading harry potter at home ^-^
Playing OpenTTD still :)

Not much else really, mayby 'll hav emore interesting things again when the weather looks up ^_^
Car in for APK (MOT), and big service the 19'th, so wish me luck with that, lasttime was expensive :)

Last weekend was fun, played lots of OTTD, Wouter was there all the time, Danes were entertaining as usual, and the last day Remco and later also Justacat visited ^_^

Also saw the first two Starwars movies, hadn't seen them in ages, and hadn't seen the new versions yet at all :)

Week been workies, and actually spent a lot of time home doing paperwork, cleaning room/house, moving old stuff to dad/family etc. :)
And doing pretty much the same this weekend ^_^
Also well into third harry potter book now ^.^

Ok, firstly, as a spinoff of the who posts most list, let's see who's still reading this thing anyways :)

I dropped out of this LJ thing for a few months, so wonder how much are still left :D

Well, friday again, gosh time flies ^_^
Received my 6 book box set of (english ofcourse) Harry Potters :)
Nearly finished the first book already yesterday :D (Read it before on my PDA, but doing at again just to get into the go of the whole set :) ).
WOndering if I should read the book(s) which have no movie yet. I think I'll enjoy things more first watching the movie, then reading the book :) Instead of 'they left out half the book!' I'll be getting additional details while reading the book, which I think is a much more pleasant experience ^.^ And I like the movies a lot :)

Week mostly spend on lil bits of cleaning (helping mum buy taking several pieces of old electronics to the 'tip' :) ). And messing around with my server, installed Suse 10.3 on it ^_^ (Used to have 10.0 :) ). And moved it to someplace well out of the way of everyone (lil side room we use for tools and stuff, next to my bedroom :) ).
I've put it on wireless cause we have no UTP going there, but I think I'll have to drill a hole in the wall and put cable there, cause we use it as file/download server too, and xGbyte files take too long on wireless (G) :)

PLans for weekend already made, over at BP/Hypers again with Wouter, taking my PC again since Hyper is out of his cast ^_^ Might do some OpenTTD :) (*giggle*, so Remco is missing out ;) ).
Hmm, starting to see a pattern in weekend spendage here :D

Can't help it. I enjoy their company, and between Danes, Geek gear, Board games, Sleeping space, and nummy foods, there's not much else I could ask for on a sqeekend ^_^

And I need to retrieve my toothbrush before accidents happen :D

You'd think there'd be more to tell :)

Server messing eats time tho ^.^ Did order a low profile Nvidia card for it since it's set up usable as desktop too now :) (There's not a whole lot of low profile AGP Nvidia cards, sadly, can you guess which model I got ? :) ).

Mayby I need to start putting up pics of our cat being silly, or of the server, or of the mess our livingroom still is with my gatherer borther using it for storage :D

Usual work yesterday, and then drove to my actual companies office for an introduction on a tool they have a big relation with :)
Sadly it's a 2 hour drive down, and one hour drive back (traffic jams when you go there), so all in all That's all I did that day ^.^
Annoyance btw: Think let's pick up a cola and a mini burger at McDonalds underway, find it's closed for renovation. So you think well, lets see if tehre's another in range on TomTom, drive down there.. Closed too!
You'd think they'd first do the one, then the other. Signs on the highway that it's closed would've been nice too :D

And something that hyper did and looked neat ^_^

Well, two weeks further again ^_^
Roughly what I've been up to:
- workworkwork
- Weekend at BP and hypers where wouter was visiting too, played a lot of risk, drove hyper down to get his one mainboard (that ruels them all), decided LOTR risk was pants (See his post :) ), much Dane loving, ofcourse, ohyeah, and beers and cosmopolitans ^__^
- workworkwork, mixed with messing around with my server, decided it needed a reinstall of a new linux (suse 10.3), and moved it to a place in the house where it'd be less bothersome (noise), and would have a bit more space for keeping cool, and swapped harddrive cause it seemed unhappy when I was trying to do the reinstall, and had to make it Wifi cause I can't lay a cable to the room it's in now :) All took a bit longer then expected :D
- Shopping and stuff last saterday cause my bro was having his bday on sunday, also some badly needed house cleaning (not my fault, my bro/mum like to gather too much stuff :) ).
- Bro's bday sunday, was nice, took up the whole day tho ^_^
- Back to work :)

Might've missed some things, think there was a company newyears meeting/drinks something too in there :)
And it's cold and wet outside still, I don't like it ^__^

Mine actually consisted entirely of a two day Neverwinternights binge ^.^ Completed the first chapter of the first campain :D
Which might sound bad, but after lots of work and being busy all the time and the illies and all, I quite enjoyed that ^-^

And I didn't really want to leave my mum alone at home over xmas, so we did the xmas dnner thing and so, kept her happy :)

And today my dad's bday, so 'll be seeing all my family anyways ^_^

Thinking a bout being at ponies with darkwolf over newyears, tho I still need to ask him :D

Ehmm, yeah, LJ updating ^_^

Ok, firstly, bumissue pretty much over, xcept for a still healing leftoer, but infection and all that is long gone. And sitting is back to normal ^_^

Spent a weekend at Naros/Soulfox place 2-3 or so weeks back, was nice, hadn't seen him in ages :)
Even tho we both where kinda wintery sniffly cold bleh, so it was a lot of sleeping and resting and not doing much ^_^
Took PC with me tho, so did some lan gaming, found out NWN-2 got messed up in the interface, so that's been deleted. He did get me hooked on NWN original tho, whee ^_^ Bought a copy + expension packs for 10 euro :)

Week after that poor Hyper broke something, so peeked over at their place. Kinda cought a cold or so just before it tho, so spent (again) most time laying on a couch, surrounded and covered by danes ^.^
Had to take the monday after it free from work too because of it. I don't like this winter stuff, too cold ^__^

On weeks I'm mostly occupied with my lil projects, and gaming :)
Lil projects consist of things like buying (Wifi)routers and putting openWRT or Tomato on it, messing with my linux server, trying to install a new creative soundcard (I -hate- their drivers :) ), messing with my tiny wacom and Z-Brush/Corel painter, Java coding.
Gaming has been all kinds, including Halflife orange box (hadn't played any HL2 games yet :D), UT2004, UT3, NWN, X3 (only a lil bit, need a lot of time somday to get into it, anyone who plays it who could give me some pointers ? :) . Still working on making BioShock or Battlefield 2140 run :)

I think it's clear I don't actually have the time for all that, which might be a reason why I'm not doing much LJ anymore :D
I end up only doing lil bits of one of those each day, then swapping again to something else ^.^

Already said I cought up on all of Heroes with my last illness, and with the cold last monday I cought up on a big chunk of Battlestar galactica seison 3 (Yeah, I know, I'm way behind on thatone :D).

Soo, that's how most my days look like ^_^
Hmm, think I put enough geek keywords in there :D

Need to get back into excersizing, and need to look at getting back into horseriding, but I'll wait till it's warm outside again ^_^

No plans for the X-mas days or newyearsday yet, prolly just at home or with fam. dunnow :)
Working the days around X-mas cause I'm low on free days ^.^

Ohyeah, Xmas dinner with work this evening :) Should be entertaining :)

Think I'll stay home this weekend, been way tired from cold remains I think :)

Informal update

Heh, looks like I dropped a bit out of the livejournal thing :)

Anyways, update, in case anyone wondered why I wasn't showing myself online, I've got the most horrible nasty spot which is preventing me from sitting atm.
So took free from work, and from sitting behind my PC.
Laying on bed/couch and catching up on Heroes 's all I can do for now, and playing DS ^.^
Which gets really annoying and boring after a few days btw. :)

Medically this is the nastiest thing I've run into for years, which is both good and bad ^_^
So not as happy as I usually am, uncertainty about when it's finally gonna heal and what kinds of things 'll be needed before that and what kind of a mark it's gonna leave don't help a lot either.

But, I'm sure it'll be all fine when it's over, and I'll be back to my regular happy bouncy scheduling ^_^

Wow, time flies :)

So much to update, including the very sad and untimely death of Keesa, I think everyone reading this already knows about this though.

First the two weeks after my Dwaggin hollidays, which were the last two weeks at the HP assignment, and also at my employer at the time.
Basically it was lots of free days, since I had still quite a few left, and lots of things to do too :)
In that time I've:
- Gone to a weekend Centerparcs which Kimba organized. Turns out I was the only one with a car too, so was driving people all over the place all the time, which took away some time, but I enjoyed it really ^.^ And the weekend itself turned out very well for me. We hired some mountain bikes which meant I had mobility with the others (who tend to skate and board and stuff ^_^) , The weather was gorgeous for the time of year, and also I've given snowboarding a try, and did quite well! Which amazed me and others ^_^ Never been on a board of any kind :)
Also this weekend was the last time I've actually seen and met Keesa (and a lot of him at that :) ), which makes it all the more special in my memory. And luckily I can say he was having a blast there too, which makes things a lil easier :)
- Gone Ice-Karting with my new employer, they're a rather active bunch :)
- Plain Karting with my old employer (bit of a goodbye thingy too, I left there in pretty good spirits, even though they'd rather have had me stay :)

Also, I stuck a better video card in my computer, and added some ram to it, meaning I can play some better games now. Also meant I spent quite a bit of time in those two weeks playing games and fiddling with the card, including two runs that left me till 7 in the morning, oops ;)

Also, straight after the centerparcs weekend (and ice-karting, which was the day after), I've had an interview for an assignment for my new employer (They rent me out to other companies :) ). Was nervous, but did well apparently, cause they got a call the next day they'd like to have me. Means I made some good impressions with my new employer too ^_^

Had a nice weekend with BBQ at Hyper/Buremeses the weekend before I'd start my new job, which turned out quite well and with lots of people there, watched 300 and Idiocracy on their big screen, and lots of Dane cuddles ofcourse ^_^ They got a new pup which is cute (too) :)

So, first of May I could start my new job and assignment, and all went pretty alright really :) People there quite happy with me sofar. It's at a small-medium size company in Hilversum, which is a bit the media center of holland. The company does some media related things, but indirectly, providing systems to manage administration messaging between big broadcasters and things :) Done it two weeks now, and is still looking good, getting more comfortable there too ^_^

Now Friday starting this weekend I'd taken a day off for Keesa's funeral, went to Kimba's the Thursday before it, where we've mainly done some stuff like blowing up fireworks in his memory, and went to the actual funeral Friday noon. You don't often see Phins crack or break, but I did there, was far too overwhelming and I was quite in tears. Just being there it really hit me he's truly gone. The funeral was quite appropriate to his memory though, with a truly amazing amount of people who knew him showing up, and many many having several good words or memories to tell about him. I am very happy I went, both for the support it has given to his parents to see that many people, and cause it'll do me much good in dealing with it.

Fairly soon after the funeral I had to go for a weekend event with my new employer (did I mention they're an active bunch ? :) ), with a small detour to save someone who got himself stuck at Utrecht Central :). I have to say the whole weekend did me a lot of good too, putting my mind of the funeral, keeping me active, and also offering some nice rest and calmness. I much enjoyed it. We've been out on shrimp fishing boat, which cought a (small) amount of shrimps, and showed how everythign works, and also stopped near a sandbank so we could watch the seals sit in the sun there. There was also the usual dinners, drinking, and loitering around the town. And today started out with some rafting in the waves near the beach, which was lots of fun too :)

Right, that's more then enough for now I think, should update more often, thanks for reading this far ;)

Hollidays over, boo ^.^

Spent one week in holland together with my dwaggin, mainly visited friends there.
And one week in england visiting my dwaggin ^_^

Was great! ^_^

Weather was amazing for the time of year, and we've been up to lots of nice things ^__^
Seen ghostrider and sunshine at the cinema's (Liked both quite a lot ^.^), been to an amusement park in england, Alton Towers, which is pretty neat too (and there weren't too many people, and the weather was great :) ), been lazing and stuff loads too, walked some in a nature reserve, even did some biking, and lots of shopping ^_^ (Well, looking at stuff in shops, not so much buying ;) ).
I miss my Dwaggin now, *pout* ^_^

Lot of things to look forward to too though :)
2 weeks from now I'm changing boss/job, which should all be interesting, and 'll give me decent raise too :)
Some events in those two weeks, should be a centerparcs long weekend thing with other furs in the middle (assuming it's still planned, think so :) ), ice cart racing with my new boss, and a undisclosed special something with my old boss. And ordered some minor updates to my current computer so that It'll be easier to wait to build an uber computer a year or two from now ^_^

EF too, but that's still a long way off :)

Blue man, Weekend :)

Went to a Blue Man performance with a lot of friends on Tuesday after work, I enjoyed it a lot ^_^
I admit I expected slightly more, especially with there being some rather slow moments in the performance, but overall I did really enjoy it ^.^
Highlights: The colorfull shiny drum/paint performance, bouncy music sequences, all out bouncy paper streamers all over the audience twirling ceiling things end scene :)

was some worry at the start that people might not make it, but in the end that all turned out well ^_^
Afterwards there were some ideas of getting a drink or so too, but with most of us working the next day that didn't really happen, something to do on a weekend mayby sometime ^_^

Talking of which, this weekend was a lot of fun too ^_^
Admittedly I started it by geeking out and playing a game till late night, and morning/noon next day fri/sat. :)
UFO Afterlight, XCOM Apocalypse alike game, which is an old dos game I liked a lot, this game as I understand it from others gets too hard/annoying to play later on, but for now it's got me well addicted ^_^ Everyone's hoping there'll be a patch that fixed the issues it has, cause overall it's pretty decent :)

Then I went off to Kimba, and quite a few others had the same idea it seems :)
Ended up going for a laser game in Utrecht with if I rember well: JohnnyK, Kimba, Laha, Kensaro, Naros, Hyper, Burmese, Wouter, Keesa and me :)
Got first place on the first game ^_^ Didn't do as well on the second game tho ^.^
Was a lot of fun! ^_^
Even though driving there and back was kinda interesting ^.^

Did go thruogh my ankle on the first game, wasn't too bad though so I could play both games quite well and all, only started to hurt a lot more when we got back, had a nice long hot bath at Kimba's to help it, and went sleepies after :) Felt better the next mornign, and still better right now, can walk again without limping ;)

Next morning was msotly lazing around, which was quite nice too, packed up and went back home somewhere late noon, where I actually fell asleep on my bed ;)

And now monday workies again ^_^
